Through our research and analysis, we explore the dynamics of maternal health in rural communities. Also, we build collective strategies that support thriving, robust, and resilient research. We intend to focus our research on maternal health with close consideration for African regions. Our concern for rural women is rooted in their challenges encountered during pregnancy, child delivery and postnatal period.

Our Actions:

Through this initiative, we:

  • Collaborate: We intend to address our research to policy making in the area of public health and collaborate with civil society organisations to sensitise the society on the need to foster maternal medicine. We will create a rally point for research, public policy and activism in matters relating to gender and health.

  • Organise conferences: In addition to engaging in painstaking research on maternal health, we would love to organise conferences and publish more works on medical history.

  • Formulate policy:The public health policy development process is a dynamic and continuous process that occurs within a political context of constant negotiation. Abiye Africa identifies the processes of public health policy development as problem identification, agenda setting, policy formulation, policy implementation, and policy evaluation in matters relating to maternal health in rural communities.
